The conference dealt with topics such as the key role of packaging design in the recycling process and the circular economy and food safety linked to food contact materials.

Sigillum Knowledge Solutions presented a talk entitled “Safe packaging for safe food” in which Marta Álvarez, responsible for the area of consumer products of the company, exposed the challenges faced by food companies in their search for balance between innovation, sustainability and functionality of the packaging and the necessary compliance with applicable regulations with the ultimate goal of ensuring the safety of food and the health of consumers. In this sense, the lack of harmonization at the international level of the regulations that apply to food contact materials is an extra challenge for food companies in their internationalization processes.

In Sigillum Knowledge Solutions we continuously monitor the regulatory framework to offer our clients personalized advice with the ultimate goal of ensuring the safety of their products in a cost-effective framework.
