SIGILLUM AND AMSLAB SIGN A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT TO STRENGTHEN THEIR POSITION IN THE COSMETICS SECTOR

Cosmetics regulations and quality controlAMSlab, a laboratory from Lugo specialized in quality control of the textile and cosmetics sector, among others; and Sigillum Knowledge Solutions, based in Santiago de Compostela and experts in global solutions on regulation and regulatory requirements of consumer products, have just signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen their presence in the cosmetics sector.
Thanks to the knowledge acquired through years of experience, they will offer professional advice within the regulatory framework of the industry and will carry out the necessary controls for regulatory compliance.

Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 on Cosmetic Products establishes that all cosmetic products must be safe under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use and must comply with the intended composition and labeling rules. Therefore, before a cosmetic product is placed on the market, it must have undergone a safety assessment on the basis of the relevant information and a cosmetic product safety report must be drawn up in accordance with Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, as well as a Cosmetic Product Dossier in accordance with Article 11 of the Regulation.

All cosmetic products marketed in the European Union must be assigned a Responsible Person based in the European Union, who guarantees compliance with the Regulation before the European authorities.

The Galician biotech company AMSlab offers quality control services to ensure the quality and conformity of cosmetic products with the requirements of its customers and/or current regulations. In this way, it contributes to the reduction of claims, sanctions, customs blockades or even product recalls.
It should be noted that AMSlab, accredited by ENAC as a testing laboratory providing a service under the ISO 17025 standard, has recently expanded its catalog of services for the cosmetics sector with tests such as the detection of sunscreens in cosmetics, detection and quantification of heavy metals, allergenic substances and musk, preservatives, phthalates and formaldehyde in cosmetics or microbiology. It is also accredited by ENAC to perform microbiology tests (Accreditation 1128/LE2473).

For its part, Sigillum has professionals with specific training and proven experience in the regulatory field of cosmetic products at international level and, in particular, with expert knowledge in the European Cosmetic Products Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and in the whole procedure of elaboration and revision of the Product Information File (PIF) derived from it. His team has developed and implemented health and safety standards and control strategies for some of the most important European firms in the sector.

With this, the synergies between the two Galician companies create the perfect tandem. On the one hand, advice on everything that companies need to know at regulatory level and also in terms of sustainability, safety and health of products for the launch of different consumer products. And on the other hand, the possibility of carrying out all the quality controls necessary to comply with these regulations.
