The report mainly affects options to improve this situation, aimed at both textile and clothing companies and consumers themselves. Among them, the possibility of extending the useful life of the garments, developing new business models based on shared economy, such as rent or subscription, designing products that facilitate the reuse and repair of garments or promoting slow fashion models.
Other lines of action focus on the promotion of the circular economy, encouraging the recycling and use of recycled materials, and measures aimed at consumers such as awareness of responsible purchasing, greater transparency in labeling, helping to choose the most sustainable options, or proper washing and drying instructions, since these processes have a huge environmental impact.
